The Changing Face of Preparedness: Building and Sustaining Public Health Capacity for Disaster Response
Please join us for the 4thAnnual Public Health Preparedness Summit in San Diego, California on February 18–20, 2009! The Summit is the largest conference for public health and emergency preparedness professionals offering a variety of plenary, panel, and poster presentations, roundtable discussions, and interactive workshops all focused on building, enhancing, and sustaining our nation's ability to plan for, respond to, and recover from disasters and other public health emergencies.
Summit Goals
The Public Health Preparedness Summit is the country's top venue for enhancing the knowledge and skills of public health professionals and other disaster responders. After participating in this program, attendees will be able to:
- Identify at least three key priority areas or issues for advancing the field of public health preparedness;
- Identify at least three areas or issues that present significant challenges for sustaining public health preparedness at the local, state, Tribal, or national level;
- Identify at least two evidence-based or evidence-informed tools or resources that will enhance their professional work or volunteer role in planning for, responding to, or recovering from disasters or other public health emergencies; and
- Develop a network of professional colleagues who share a commitment to improving, enhancing, and sustaining the public health response to disasters.
